Houyi is a classic hero of Chinese mythology who represents the salvation of nature. One day, ten suns appeared in the sky simultaneously, causing a devastating drought and famine. At the same time, wild monsters preyed upon the suffering population. Armed with a red bow and white arrows, Houyi shot down nine of the ten suns. He then destroyed the beasts and restored peace to the people.
